We place a high value on learning and growth, providing ongoing support to our team to learn new skills and become fulfilled in both their personal and professional life.About the roleThe Cybersecurity Engineer we hire for this role will work to identify and mitigate cybersecurity vulnerabilities for a ground system for a new United States Space Force (USSF) satellite constellation. This person will work with the program's engineering team to architect, develop and sell-off products to a government customer. Work will include configuration development, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance and testing, and delivery of a secure environment for Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission operations. Ideally, this candidate has experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF). We consider experience with OPIR missions to be a significant bonus for this role.What you'll doKey responsibilities for the Cybersecurity Engineer include:<ul><li>Develop Cyber Plans and Procedures for an environment that consists of, amongst other technologies, Juniper network devices, Red Hat Linux, Red Hat Identity Manager, IBM AIX, iSCSI Storage, VSAN, ESXi, AND VMWare.</li><li>Work with Systems Engineers to develop solutions that manage cybersecurity risks within systems.</li><li>Perform cybersecurity scans, analyze results and harden systems.</li><li>Generate documentation required to achieve approval to operate systems.</li><li>Interface with the customer, leveraging strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Computer Science (Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education).</li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of experience in CyberSecurity Engineering.</li><li>Experience with cyber tools, including ACAS and HBSS.</li><li>Strong understanding of Cybersecurity frameworks and standards.</li><li>Experience running DISA SCAP Scan and working with DISA STIGs for operating systems, network devices, and other infrastructure related services (LDAP, AD, ESXi, Virtual Machines).</li><li>Ability to work with system and security SMEs to harden and mitigate vulnerabilities identified by cyber tools.</li><li>Experience with incident response and management.</li><li>Ability to communicate technical information via oral presentation and written format.</li></ul>Preferred/Bonus Qualifications<ul><li>Strong focus on internal and external customer success.</li><li>Possess CompTIA Security+ and CISSP or similar certifications.</li><li>Cybersecurity engineering experience with embedded systems development for DoD.</li><li>Understanding of networking fundamentals, programming languages, and operating systems.</li><li>Familiar with Risk Management Framework (RMF).</li><li>Understanding of ethical hacking and penetration.</li><li>Experience working within an agile workflow.</li><li>Experience with Jira and Confluence.</li><li>Experience with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR).</li></ul>Other Company RequirementsIn addition to job-specific requirements, Centil believes it is important for all employees to possess the following skills/characteristics:<ul><li>Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. All applicants must be US citizens eligible for a US Government security clearance.</li></ul>Expected Salary RangeDepending on experience and skillset, most candidates will earn between $120,000 and $170,000 per year.Please note that the salary range is a general guideline only. We consider many factors when determining salaries including, but are not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education, training, certifications, key skills, and mission/customer familiarity.
